Our Philosophy
Kala Sangam’s philosophy is known to be inclusive and non-competitive. We have been advocating and still advocate closeness, oneness and unity among the organisers for the cause of music. We sincerely wish that all of us come together under one umbrella, on one platform, once a year on equal footing to present Sangeet Yagya. This togetherness will help produce great music and dance. This is with the objective to protect and promote India’s rich cultural traditions. We would also appeal to the Gharanas to join the stream, who knows this stream may become an ocean to keep up and protect this heritage. This could be the beginning of a chapter not seen before in India, thereby setting a healthy trend in the country.
Our Mission
1. To continue to pursue with the advancement of music and allied performing arts in their academic and presentational spheres.
2. To encourage and assist up & coming artists by providing them with a platform to perform alongside the legendary performing artists, so that the centuries old rich Heritage of Indian Classical Music continues and the baton is passed on from the veterans to the future crop of musicians.
3. To extend the Indian Classical Music beyond frontiers, so that the gospel of music reaches every receptive ear.
4. To promote dance, ballets, operas and folk arts and encourage original compositions and choreography thereby help build up appreciative audiences.
5. We are Committed to providing a healthy environment of serenity and harmony in the auditorium, that will enable to build a rapport between the artist and the audience for the artists to give their best.

Green Horns Initiative
Kala Sangam Bombay has started a unique concept initiative, to offer a walk on its Junior Stage to those unknown artists who have the potential to express themselves in good music, but have not been fortunate to have an established platform to back them. There are also those who have been performing in some concerts, but have had no opportunity, for an established platform to support them and be a catalyst to help them fulfil their dreams.
Green Horns are therefore the artists, who have crossed the musical puberty and are urging themselves to a new adulthood as future musicians to carry the baton forward in the rich musical heritage of India.
Apart from artists, from the mainstream Hindustani and Carnatic Classical Music and Dance, artists from other allied forms like semi classical, light classical, devotional spheres like Abhangs, Keertans, Sufiana Kalaam and Qawwals are also in the focus for development.
